Our campsite is situated as a terrace above the Listersee, a side arm of the Biggesee. While our campsite does not have direct access to the lake, you can easily reach the lake via an approx. 100m long footpath and find many activities such as swimming, fishing, SUPing and much more.
Kalberschnacke is located directly on Lake Listersee. The Listersee is one of the oldest reservoirs in the Sauerland. The dam wall was built in 1912. The lake is used to supply drinking water and is designated as a bathing lake. Since the construction of the Biggetal dam, Lake Lister has been a tributary of Lake Bigge.
Of course you can swim in the Listersee lake. There is a designated bathing beach in the Kalberschnacke area below the campsite. From early summer you will find a pleasant water temperature and great water quality here.
The campsite's rowing boats are moored at the small jetty below the Gut Kalberschnacke restaurant. These can be hired from around May to the beginning of October. This is possible for guests of the campsite by the hour or by the day.
SUPing, sailing & surfing
There is a generally accessible slipway below the Gut Kalberschnacke campsite. Our campsite has its own jetty for sailing boats. Jetties can be hired from April to October. The wind conditions on Lake Listersee are ideal for surfing. More and more stand-up paddlers are now travelling on the lake. SUPs can be hired directly from reception.
Fishing in the Listersee is permitted with a valid fishing licence. Fishing licences are available from reception on presentation of a state fishing licence. Fishing licences can also be purchased online .
The Kalberschnacke diving area is located directly below the campsite on Lake Listersee. Suitable for divers from CMAS* or equivalent. Maximum depth 23 metres. The area can be dived during the day with advance notice. Please pay attention to the information board and the area boundaries (light orange buoys). The use of a diving buoy is compulsory.
